Applications Engineer

Description: This position shares in project responsibility and accountability while serving various industrial clients that utilize automated control systems (discrete and process controls). This position has opportunities for telecommuting, but will also require operating in a team environment with other engineers, programmers and I&E personnel.

Requirements: Minimum of five years of progressive responsibility with industrial automation, SCADA systems, and instrumentation and electrical applications. Experience in the manufacturing, energy, or water/wastewater industries is highly desired. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are necessary along with outstanding analytical and troubleshooting skills. Prior experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) including the ability to program and configure industry leading PLC hardware such as the Allen Bradley, Modicon, and Siemens product lines is essential.  Experience with some or all of the following Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system software packages is required: Wonderware® InTouch, Wonderware® Industrial Application Sever, Wonderware® InSQL, Intellution® iFIX and FIX32, RSView® SE and ME. Experience with control system networks (Ethernet networks, Modbus, Modbus Plus, DH+, DeviceNet, ControlNet, etc.) including the ability to configure and troubleshoot the associated hardware and software is required. Familiarity with SQL programming, C++, Web programming, HTML, Microsoft .NET, and JAVA is desired, but not required. Designation as an ISA® Certified Automation Professional (CAP) is a big plus.



Electrical Engineer

Description: This position requires the individual to work successfully in a team environment to design electrical, instrumentation and control systems for the manufacturing, energy, or water/wastewater industries. Design responsibilities include all of the necessary fundamentals needed to develop state of the art electrical and automated control systems. These fundamentals include the following: power distribution systems, electrical single lines, motor control center (MCC) layouts, standby generators and switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFDs), reduced voltage starters, motor operated valves (MOVs), electrical site plans, conduit schedules, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), SCADA systems, industrial communication networks and radio telemetry systems, PLC control panels, and instrumentation applications.

Requirements: MS or BS in Electrical Engineering with five to ten years of professional engineering experience designing electrical and industrial automation systems. Designation as a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in California is highly desired.  Excellent organization and communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential.



Lead Field Engineer

Description: This position leads all field engineering efforts and is responsible for defining and executing projects.  Responsibilities include planning and implementing electrical contracting and construction management projects as well as performing and/or delegating electrical inspections and field data gathering efforts.  This position is highly visible and requires frequent interaction with clients.  This position will be the team lead for multiple projects and will work closely with engineers and construction personnel.

Requirements: Minimum of seven years of progressive responsibility with electrical and industrial automation systems. Experience in the manufacturing, energy, or water/wastewater industries is essential. Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal) are a must. Prior experience managing and leading project teams is necessary, including experience compiling project cost estimates and schedules. Knowledge of local and national electrical codes is required along with the ability to adhere and adapt to various industry and customer-specific safety standards.
